Error in Scanner: Device could not be locked
When attempting to use the scanner, if the above error message appears, kindly try the below solutions:
1. Change the USB Cable
Replace the current USB cable connecting the scanner to the computer with a new or known working one.
2. Restart the Print Spooler Service
3. Restart the Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) Service
•Disconnect the scanner from the computer
•In the Windows seach box (bottom left corner), type Services and click on the Services (Desktop app).
•Scroll Down to locate Windows Image Acquisition (WIA)
•Right Click WIA and select Properties
•In the Properties window: Click Stop to halt the service, Set Startup type to Disabled.
•Restart the computer.
•Reconnect the scanner.
