Java JDK Installation JDK 8u202 32-bit and JDK 21 64-bit
Scan2x requires Java Development Kit (JDK) installations for specific functionalities:
•KIR Digital Signing: Utilizes either JDK 8u202 or JDK 21 for secure document signing.
•Scan2x Web (KafkaServer): Requires JDK 21 for the operation of the New ScanWebClient (Angular-based).
Installation Details
JDK for KIR Digital Signing:
•Supported Versions:
•jdk-8u202-x86.exe
•jdk-21_windows-x64_bin.exe
•Optional: Users can opt out of installing the JDK if KIR digital signing is not required.
JDK for Scan2x Web:
•Version required:
•jdk-21_windows-x64_bin.exe
•Mandatory: This installation is necessary for KafkaServer and the New ScanWebClient to function properly.
Automatic JDK Installation on Startup
•Upon launching Scan2x Windows, the system attempts to download and install both JDK versions for KIR.
•Opt-Out Option: Users may choose not to install JDK during startup
•Reinstallation Note: If skipped initially, Scan2x will not prompt again for JDK installation. Manual installation will be required for KIR usage later.
Manual Installation Instructions
•If JDK installlation was skipped during startup or needs to be performed manaually:
•Download the required JDK installer: jdk-8u202-x86.exe AND jdk-21_windows-x64_bin.exe
•Run the installer and follow the on screen instructions.
