Scan2x provides two methods for redacting sensitive information from scanned documents. Redaction ensures that specified areas of a document are obscured and cannot be viewed in the scan preview or in the final document output. Below are the available redaction workflows:
Redaction via "Manage OCR Zones"
This method allows the users to predefine redaction zones during the OCR configuartion process:
1.Set Redaction Metadata:
•In the Temporary metadata tab, create a metadata field and set its Default type to "Redaction"
2.Define Redaction Zone:
•Navigate to the "Manage OCR Zones" tab.
•Select the newly created redaction metaadata field.
•Draw the redaction zone on the document as you would for a standard OCR zone. The zone can be anchored to keywords and behaves in the same manner.
•Enable the Redact before OCR checkbox. NOTE: This ensures the content within the selected area is redacted before OCR processing and will not be visible in the scan preview.
Redaction via Scan Preview (Redation Tools)
This method allows the user to apply redactions during the job execution directly in the scan preview window:
1.Access Redaction Tools:
While running a Job, locate the Redaction Tools section in the scan preview interface.
2.Available Actions:
•Redact: Click this option to draw redaction zones directly on the document. This functions similarly to setting up OCR zones but redacts the selected area immediately.
•Undo: Reverts the last redaction action.
•Reset: Clears all redaction actions made during the current editing session.
•Apply: Saves all current redactions. Once applied, redactions cannot be undone.
