Table Definition with AI

Kindly see the A.I. Mapped Fields tab in order to better understand the process of using an AI mapped metadata field with Table Definition.

Open your job in which you would like to use AI

From the Advanced Scan Settings tab, select which AI module you would like to use (for this example, the Tables AI module is being used).

From the Metadata tab, create the following two metadata fields; AITable & Table.

Select the AITable metadata field and click the Manage Mapped Fields button.

Add a document which you would like to get the table data from - you can either use the job's Job Template or select a file from your PC. Then click Analyse Document.

Once the document has been analysed, tick the Tables (Merge All) option and from the Label Settings tab, set ParseAs as Text, FilterType as Contains:, and FilterCondition as Quantity. This will ensure the AI only gives us the table with the word 'Quantity' in the column header.

In the Table Settings tab, the administrator also has the ability to:

oEnable Sequential Table Merge - allows Scan2x to merge tables seemlessly if the column headers are the same. The Confidence Percentage can also be set for this option.

The above settings can then be applied by clicking the 'Apply Table Settings' button.

Click Apply

Set the Table metadata field default type as 'Table' and click the Define Table button.

Once the Table Definition screen appears, from the dropdown, select the AITable metadata field. Once selected, the data from all the tables available of the document we uploaded will appear.

Either click the Add all columns to definition button or go to the Column Definitions tab and define your own columns.

Under the Map to OCR Column column, click the dropdown for one of the column names and select which AI column header you would like defined. You can choose one or multiple AI column headers.

Once completed, you can check the final result in the Results tab by clicking Refresh Test. If all looks good, click Apply.

If you do not want to save two tables in your output metadata file, move the AITable metadata field to the Temporary Metadata tab by selecting the metadata field and clicking the Move to Temporary Metadata button at the bottom of the screen.

Make sure to click Apply Changes to save your work. Then run the job and see the results the AI extracts.
